The difference between large-span cable tray and ordinary tray

In general, large-span cable trays are 2 meters per section. Literally speaking, large-span cable trays are trays with a relatively large span. In the industry, large-span cable trays with a span of 4 meters or more are generally referred to as large-span trays. Conventional large-span cable trays have sections of 4 meters and 6 meters, as well as some extra long spans such as 8 meters and 9 meters. Large span cable trays are generally customized and produced according to user requirements, and the thickness of the tray varies depending on the span. Many users may have questions about the difference between ordinary cable trays and large-span cable trays. Based on several years of industry experience and customer feedback, today I will make a simple comparison.

1、 Thickness

Bridge trays allow for small sheet thickness, but for large-span bridge trays, the thickness should be slightly thicker than this standard, especially for bridge trays with spans of 6 meters or more. It is recommended to use a low thickness base of 1.5 for small-sized bridge trays with a width range of 300 to 600 meters. It is recommended to use a low thickness base of 2.0 for bridge trays with a width range of 800 meters or more, and a low thickness base of 2.5 for bridge trays with a width range of 800 meters or more

2、 Bridge ladder edge

There are no special requirements for the ladder edge of conventional cable trays. The ladder edge of large-span cable trays needs to be reinforced with ribs to increase its strength. For trays with a span of more than 8 meters, it is recommended to have double ladder edges.

3、 Installation and accessories

The conventional bridge has a small span and a lightweight groove. Although it is easy to install, the bridge requires more connecting accessories, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Due to the heavy span and groove body of the large-span bridge, lifting tools are required for installation. However, the bridge has fewer connecting accessories, making installation very fast
